Youth Camp Update

We three women went to visit the youth camp again yesterday (Thursday) and we have some new photos to share with you all. Your family members and friends are all doing well. They have adjusted to the bathroom situation admirably and we did our best to give them all hugs and check in with them. We were able to stay there for dinner and for the evening worship time. Jared preached about Freedom and Truth and Haylee say the song "Finally Free". As you may have guessed the youth camp theme is Freedom. I realize that my blog posting does not look fancy or cute, but I figure that all you really want is information and pictures. Please also check on Smug Mug for more photos as well. As you can see, our students are making new friends and are also enjoying being with each other.

I am pleased to inform (and show) you that your family members and friends are really doing a wonderful job of being serious and respectable when necessary.

There are so many things to share about youth camp that even we don't know about, but the general feeling is that it has been a great experience for our team. They have spent time worshipping together, praying together, and learning together.

The team returns to Kremenchug tomorrow morning. Please pray that their last night at the camp goes well, that they remain healthy, and that their last amount of time with their new friends is blessed. They will be tired when they return, and then we need to start getting prepared for the church service on Sunday and the day camps that start Monday.

Thank you to those of you who have posted comments. PLEASE know that we are sharing them with the team (and particularly with your family members). Please feel free to make comments for us to share. We love you and are so very grateful for your support of us. What a blessing it is to be a part of this experience. Another huge blessing we have received is cool weather this last week. It was an unexpected gift for us! The forecast for the coming days looks hot, so we'd appreciate your prayers about that, too.

  1. We are praying for you! From the pictures it looks as if God is blessing your efforts with lots of fun and relationship building. God can speak across even a language barrier through smiles and songs! What a gift it is to be His hands and feet in Ukraine and share His love openly with those who not long ago did not have that freedom! It is hard to believe that your time there is almost half over! WE LOVE YOU ERIN and pray each day that God gives you and your team strength, health, and His promise of blessings back to you for all you are doing in His name! We look forward each day to updates - thank you Annie for keeping us posted! Pictures are worth a thousand words!! Love to all, Pam

  6. Good job blogging, Annie! Are you also taking all the great pictures? Thank you for doing this. We just got home from a week away from computer access and I couldn't wait to see what you all have been up to! Looks like a great time was had by all at the youth camp. My favorite is the tucked in shirts with the hiked up shorts. What's up with that??? I know that God is doing great things over there and you will learn things that you will never forget. Please give my baby girl a big hug and tell her I love her very much. King's Point just wasn't the same without you, Steph! We miss you and are praying every day for you! Thanks, Annie for the great updates! Please greet our Ukrainian friends from the Morks! Standing in the gap...praying - mary

  7. Hi Joel,

This is dad. It looks like you guys are having an awesome time and that God is at work. Today is Sunday here and we're at grandpa and grandma Magnusons. We drive to Kansas tomorrow. We miss you quite a bit but are really excited that you guys are all there reaching out to people and serving Jesus. Mom will probably post her own comments so I won't speak for her. By the way, try to find your way into more pictures. We really like seeing you on the blog. I don't know if you can answer questions or not but what was going on in the pictures where you guys are dressed up like tribal warriors?

We're praying for you and for the entire team daily. I love you.

    Dad.

  8. hey dad, this is joel, yeah, tribal warriors, to view the most pictures go to the smugmug site, there's a link to it on the top of the blog on the left hand side. Our team was tribal warriors because we were in a fashion show and so our group decided to do tribal warriors.
ps, go to smugmug and check out my out handed interception! it might not be there but we'll get copies later, we'll talk more now that we're in Kremenchug, bye
